The shelters continue to be over-crowded with cats. The kittens' chances are slightly better than adults...20% of those impounded find homes. Only 1% of adult cats are chosen for adoption, even though among them are many Siamese, Himalayan, Persian, Manx and All-American purr machines. The ones we are able to rescue are tested for FELV/FIV, sterilized and given health care as necessary. They are placed only in indoor homes.

Alyssa

Alyssa's favorite place in the world is on your lap! Yup, she already knows that. When she is not dominating your lap, she will be licking your hand or snuggling up against you. She is full of personality and love and just a little bit of Siamese attitude. She is FIV+ but that hasn't kept her from loving life fully!

Arlene

Arlene is a happy little cat. She likes to play and likes to be loved even more. She has a mellow disposition and a cute little tuxedo face. However Arlene is FIV positive. She does not take any medication, and she will live a normal life. It would be best if she would go into a home with another FIV positive cat.

Jenn

I am a short haired female about 1yr old. I am new to the kennel so I am a little shy at first but LOVE to get petted as much as possible. Please come take me home. All my babies are in my spot light.

Spike

Dsh black/white male neutered 7yrs old. I am a gentle mello fello who loves to hang on the couch with you.

Margo

Margo is the most difficult cat to photograph because she is a total lap cat. It is extremely difficult to photograph a cat cuddling on your lap! She loves, loves, loves, people and is the most affectionate cat we have. Why is Margo still with us? My only guess is her minor health need. She has feline herpes, which is not contagious and only requires a bit of lysine in her food. Margo needs a person or family to overlook this minor issue and come love her!

Cayanne

This shy sweetie has been at the shelter since 2004!!! He is a gentle cat would like to go to a special home preferably with his Mom (Spicy). Both are FIV positive but in healthy condition.

Eva

For reasons unknown to us Eva has just been overlooked. She came to the Lang Foundation in 2003 and her charm has not yet won anyone over. Look into her beautiful green eyes and see if she is the perfect cat for you.

Sierra

Sierra is a young calico with tons of energy to play. She is about 1 year old, maybe a tad older. She came to us with her litter of kittens; all but one has been adopted. She is totally sweet, loves to rub up against anyone around

Paris

Paris is a big, soft, fluffy kitty. She's not too crazy about being held, but she loves attention and is always looking for a leg, or scratching post, or finger that she can rub her face on. Paris would be happy in a home where there are a lot of people and objects to rub against.

Moza

A gem of a gal but she would rather not share you or your home with anyone else. Moza is a great cat when she is not surrounded by all these others! On her own, she is playful and curious, but shelter life is hard for this independent cat. She needs an adult household where she can be herself.

Julia

Julia is a special needs kitty. She has Feline Herpes Virus and should be kept in a one cat household or with other cats that have Feline Herpes. Julia is very shy and would need a patient loving home to bring her out of her shell.

Samantha

Samantha is a classic cat. She loves to sunbathe, loves to perch high above, loves to watch the birds and when she wants attention, you know it! She would do best in a home without other cats, but she has gotten used to living among the many others she shares her space with now.

Lazy Susan

Dmh black/white 7 1/2yr old female spayed. I am a quiet and lovely lady who loves to spend my days in the sun. I wouldn't mind sittin in you lap either.

Gracie

Never met a sillier, more affectionate cat! All she needs is non-stop belly rubs and possibly someone’s ponytail to nibble on.

Tangerine

Dsh tabby/tortie female spayed 7yrs old. I just need some time to open up and get to know you....some yummy wet food wouldn't hurt to help that along either.

Lonnie

Lonnie is your good ole' fat cat. She likes to lounge around and relax her days away. She would be perfect for a home where you just want a mellow companion to come home to.

Treasure

Doesn't Treasure look like she is wearing the mask of Zorro? Treasure thinks so. She is a master at defending against villains and protecting the town folks from evil! Ok, not really. She just wants love, attention and possibly a toy to play with. She might really like a warm lap and cat bed too. But for now, she will continue to defend the vulnerable as any good hero would

Spice

FIV+

Spice’s life before she came here wasn't particularly easy. She came to us with a litter of kittens as well as being FIV+. Can't really blame her for a bit of reticence around us humans. Her best friend is Cayenne and the two loves to sit on the same cushion, watching the world go by. Gentle affection and lots of love, and this girl will blossom.

Tabitha

Tabitha is a lovely gal. She likes to stay perched above the fray in her enclosure, watching all the other cats. But the minute you reach for her, she soaks up the attention. She loves people and has tons of spunkiness. Tabitha is about 8 years old and she really deserves a loving home of her own!

Weebles

Weebles is a special needs girl with a big heart. Her lower spine is not fully working, so she drags her back legs a bit. We don't know if this is a genetic defect or caused by an old injury. She is healthy now and is very able to get around, use the litter box, roll over for belly rubs! She does need a bit of extra care but she is a great gal!

Nancy

Nancy is a gloriously active funny girl who loves to play. She leaps from cat tree to cat tree, pausing only long enough to get a head rub. She loves attention and she is great with other cats. Her real mission in life is to play play play.

Comet

Comet, at first, is a bit timid but he is a sweet affectionate boy! And he has a secret...he is an expert laser light chaser! Hard to believe this sweet, laid back lover is so nimble! His best friend is Jones and they have the best time playing chase the red light! Most likely, he will need an adult home or a home with older children.

Daisy

Daisy was abandoned at our front door with her sister, Spookie. She is an independent girl, loves to get all the attention in the room and really appreciates a good head scratching. Daisy is a funny girl and is about 10 years old. She would do fine alone or with another cat!

Attica

Attica is a bit shy but she loves other cats. A quiet home for her would be best for her. Once she is comfortable, she does give the best head-rub ever.

Abbey

A Hemingway Cat indeed! Abbey is a sweet girl with just a few extra toes...how can that be bad?

Arden

Arden is a big talker with lots on her mind. Mostly, she wants to know what is for dinner and when you are planning on petting her. When she isn't watching the world go by, she is snuggling with one of her pals. Arden would love to be in a home with another cat. She is very affectionate and meows to let you know it is dinner time.

Grey

Grey loves to run about, stopping briefly to rub against you and then back to playing. Grey has a great personality and gets along with all the cats in his enclosure!

Boo

I am about 1yr old female. I am a bit shy at first and need to find someone that will just give me some time to come out of my shell. I am all about being petted but I am still not sure about being held.

Brisbee

Pssst...over here. Wanna know a secret? I am not really shy, I am just pretending. I just got here and I wanna make sure its a-ok before I step out. You see, in my short time on this planet, (I am only about a year old!) I have seen a few things. But so far, everyone here seems darn nice. In fact, I hear them say I am total cuddle bug! I love cuddling with my enclosure mates, but I am not that picky. I will curl up around any one!

Melody

Melodie is a sweet cat but she is a bit shy. She would need a very understanding home to bring out her true personality. That is probably why she has been here so long. However, her favorite toy is a laser light beam to chase! Once she gets playing, she is a hoot! She is affectionate, and will purr like a motor when she gets to know you. She is also a special needs cat. She needs occasional eye medication, to help with a minor infection. Its a tough road for this little gal, but she is really worth it.

Stitch

As you can see from the photo, Stitch is a beautiful cat! He is a furry bundle of love too! He is energetic and affectionate with a mischievous look in his eye. When he is not basking in the sun light, he is playing chase with catnip ball or hunting a feather toy.

Eric

Eric is a big brown tabby boy, about 9yrs old. He is pretty new to Lange and fitting in beautifully. He gets along great with all his companions and is really starting to explore. He loves to be petted and will give you little mew to tell you so. He has one of those fantastic cat personalities. He is funny, loving, sassy and all cat.

Samo

Samo is a beautiful Chocolate Point Siamese. He is a typical spunky siamese, full o f energy and mirth. He is less than a year old, and oh does he love to play! He gets along with all the kittens in his enclosure and I am sure he would be great in a home with other critters.

Tallulah

Tallulah is a beautiful all white cat that was dumped on the street with two young kittens. We rescued her and her kittens have since been adopted. She has the most amazing eyes- one blue and one green. She is an active outgoing cat who loves to snuggle up to you. She has a fantastic independent streak but loves attention. She is only about 2 or 3 years old.

Peter

Peter is an adorable, spunky little 10 month old guy. We think he is an Egyptian Mau mix-based on his stunning good looks. He loves attention! He is filled with curiosity and energy; he is an expert feather chaser, he bats at all flying fuzzy toys and can leap thousands of feet in the air. He is just a funny little guy with lots of energy...a Kitten!

Gus

Hi! I am Gus. And I need a lap to sit on and someone to love me. That is all. Nothing more. Love and a lap, not really that hard. Do you have those? I am about 8 yrs old and the folks here say I am a buff orange tabby. I think they mean I have the sweetest personality in the world. Either way, all I need is a lap and love.

Kimo

Kimo's story is really sad. His owner died and he was brought to the shelter. He has had a difficult transition, after having had a loving, comfortable home. He is now doing great and is the sweetest guy. He loves to be loved, and amazingly, he can curl his big body onto your lap. He has a fantastic purr and does so many endearing cat things. He would so love to have a home again!

Meesha

Meesha is Ragdoll- about 6yrs old. Like all ragdolls, she has a gentle loving nature and loves to loved. Her grandest ambition in life, being a couch potato! Preferably a couch potato with a buddy or two to share bowls of fish chips. :-)

Mabel

Mabel would like me to ask you all why torties have such a reputation. See, Mabel is none of the things people accuse torties of being. First of all, she loves everybody. Second, she isn't aloof or dismissive toward people. Third, she has this spot, right behind her ears, that when scratched, turns her into a purring machine. See, no tortitude! Just beautiful, loving tri-color funniness.

Wallace

Wallace is the most distinguished, sophisticated, erudite cat we have. He is like the older stately gentleman with an air of grand old tradition. And Wallace really wants you to know that. He really wants you to know that he is more than happy to indulge your need to pet him, lots. He is very generous that way, he understands that we humans are unable to resist his charms. He is more than ok with that! In fact, he would like to inquire what is taking you so long. Wallace is only about 10 years old, which is remarkable considering his amassed charms.

Sabine

Sabine is a fantastically unusual looking tortie/calico mix approx. 6yrs old and front declawed. She is a sweet gentle gal that is really bonded with her roommate Spunky. They were relinquished by their owner, and have been adapting to the shelter life by cuddling with each other. They are truly sweet, loving cats. Sabine is a tiny bit shyer but loves affection. We know she will come out of her shell very soon and become the best lap cat anyone could hope for.

Snowie

Snowie is brand new to us. So far, he has captured our hearts. He is a big character, and he loves affection. He has a very funny personality and loves to play!

Spunky

I am a DSH orange tabby male about 4yr old. I am a talkative guy who loves to eat. I tell my roommate, Sabrine, all the time to open up more but she is still a bit shy. Come say hello and I will do my best to talk you in to taking "US" home.

Danielle

Danielle came to us with a litter of adorable kittens. She was a great mother, all her babies are adopted and now it is her time to find a forever home. She is a gorgeous, lithe little gal, who loves to rub and love on you. Danielle looks like she is part Maine Coon and all charmer.

Pauline

Pauline is about 2 years old and full of bright eyed wonder and spirit. She is talkative and affectionate-did I mention talkative? She loves to chase toys and play with catnip mice. Pauline is great little gal who would love to have a home and people to call her own.

Kitty

Kitty was abandoned on our doorstep with a note asking for someone to save him. And now it might be your turn? He is a big beautiful cat with a gorgeous face and an impish personality. He is very affectionate cat who is happy to plop down on a lap and wait for lots of petting! For now, he is looking for a big hearted adopter.

Velvet

Well hello, I am Velvet. And I am pleeeeased to meet you. Really, I am. I just don't like to show my emotions. Unless of course you are going to pet me...Wheeeeeeee. I love to be scratched around the ears, on the chin, the back...you name it, I will purr for it. I am sure, I would like a lap to sit on too, if you got one. Come by, ask for me..Velvet.

Pooh

Oh the indignity...They named me Pooh. I assume they mean Winnie the Pooh. Or maybe these silly two leggers are just goofy. I don't know. But let me assure you, I am so much more than a Pooh. I am a gorgeous all black gal, with big green eyes. I am in a room with a couple jokers, but I am doing ok. I like other cats, even if I keep to myself a bit. I do make a special point to come and talk to the humans, when they come here. So, please don't let my silly name stop you from coming to see me!

Viola

Viola is a big fluffy ball of love. She is a young girl, who loves to be held and loves to play and is strikingly gorgeous. She is a fantastic cat.

Amy

Amy might actually be our largest Tortie. And we have a few big torties! She is a total gentle giant only about 6 years old. She can wind her large body right around your lap and stay there forever! She is really one of a kind.

Covasi

We, at the Lange Foundation are torn...Some of us love all Torties and some are not so sure...But Covasi is loved by all of us. She is about 3 yrs old, and by far the sweetest, gentlest tortie in the whole place. She gives head butts, kisses, lap sitting, and all sorts of affection. Her temperament makes her perfect for any family.

Missy

I am a DSH tabby/white female/spayed 10weeks. I am such a lover. You can throw me over your shoulder, kiss my belly while I fall asleep in your arms upside down.

Princess

I am a DSH tabby/white female 1 1/2yrs. Like most moms with babies. I am working hard taking care of my babies. Although I love them, I would love to find my own home as quickly as they do and finally get all the attention
to myself.

Teagen

I am a DSH blk/white female 2 1/2yrs. I am a very outgoing girl (I have to be since I am a black and white cat). I am taking great care of my babies and can't wait to have my own home where I can get more of the attention.

Onion

Onion is an adorable lilac point Siamese, complete with cross eyes! She just had a litter of 4 kittens and was a great mom. She is affectionate, loving, purring, funny, lithe gal. All she wants is a lap to cuddle on and a loving home of her own.

Kally

Kally is a quirky, funny loving little long haired calico gal-about 4 yrs old. She loves to roll over for belly rubbing and she loves to play. If you have toys, energy and lots of love, Kally is the perfect girl for you.

Brandon

Brandon is a big squishy love bug. He is about 3 years old. He loves loves loves attention from all people and purrs as soon as anyone touches him. Brandon has quickly become a favorite around here. He would like nothing more than a comfy sunny spot or a warm lap to curl up on.

Maxine

Maxine is pretty hard to describe, she is a gorgeous black cat with a grey undercoat. She is truly stunning. She was at the shelter for a very long time and for some reason, she was the perfect cat to test the dogs with. She gets along really well with dogs and was quick to determine whether the dogs were friendly to cats or not. An odd skill, to say the least but one that has served her well. She is really affectionate with people and loves to hang out in the sun. Come by and meet Maxine, she is a fantastic cat

Sheeba

Sheeba is a gorgeous tuxedo gal. She is a bundle of furry goodness. She loves to cuddle up on a lap more than just about anything. However, she is also an expert catnip mouse chaser. She doesn't show that skill to just anyone...just those who have catnip mice to play with! Sheeba is about three years old, gets along great with her enclosure mates and would love to show you how fabulous she really is!

Bandit

This little gal is nursing her babies right now but she is a fantastic young cat. She loves attention, purrs like a motor and wants nothing more than a comfortable lap to curl up on. We think she is a Russian Blue mix, about a year or so old.

Ellie

Ellie is brand new to us and has made quite an impression. She is a lithe beauty, most likely a maine coon mix. She is sweet and demur, loves to cuddle and has the cutest mannerisms. She is the first one to greet people and loves attention. We believe she about 2 years old.

Lida

Lida is about 4 years old and full of mirth. She loves to come right up to you and talk you into to following her to her favorite spot. The she rolls around and convinces you to spend hours rubbing her belly! Yup, Lida is a doll!

Moe

Moe is a fantastic big calico. Look at this girl, she is a big calico with all the qualities of a tri-color cat! She loves to talk, and to play and roll around. Her goals in life are to find a nice sunny window to lie in and a nice happy person to spend her days talking to! She is easy going, loves attention and is learning that playing with a feather toy might be the best thing ever. We think Moe is about 2 years old and has all the energy and spunk of a kitten.

Oakland

Oakland is very new to us and has come out of his shell in a big fantastic way. He is a beautiful tabby about 2 year old. He had no idea why his owners felt the need to dump at the kennel, and neither do we. But that rough start hasn't stopped him from getting all the attention in the enclosure. He has quickly become a big big charmer. Everyone who comes by, Oakland is sure to greet.

	Kimo Kimo's story is really sad. His owner died and he was brought to the shelter. He has had a difficult transition, after having had a loving, comfortable home. He is now doing great and is the sweetest guy. He loves to be loved, and amazingly, he can curl his big body onto your lap. He has a fantastic purr and does so many endearing cat things. He would so love to have a home again!	Meesha Meesha is Ragdoll- about 6yrs old. Like all ragdolls, she has a gentle loving nature and loves to loved. Her grandest ambition in life, being a couch potato! Preferably a couch potato with a buddy or two to share bowls of fish chips. :-)
	Mabel Mabel would like me to ask you all why torties have such a reputation. See, Mabel is none of the things people accuse torties of being. First of all, she loves everybody. Second, she isn't aloof or dismissive toward people. Third, she has this spot, right behind her ears, that when scratched, turns her into a purring machine. See, no tortitude! Just beautiful, loving tri-color funniness.	Wallace Wallace is the most distinguished, sophisticated, erudite cat we have. He is like the older stately gentleman with an air of grand old tradition. And Wallace really wants you to know that. He really wants you to know that he is more than happy to indulge your need to pet him, lots. He is very generous that way, he understands that we humans are unable to resist his charms. He is more than ok with that! In fact, he would like to inquire what is taking you so long. Wallace is only about 10 years old, which is remarkable considering his amassed charms.
	Sabine Sabine is a fantastically unusual looking tortie/calico mix approx. 6yrs old and front declawed. She is a sweet gentle gal that is really bonded with her roommate Spunky. They were relinquished by their owner, and have been adapting to the shelter life by cuddling with each other. They are truly sweet, loving cats. Sabine is a tiny bit shyer but loves affection. We know she will come out of her shell very soon and become the best lap cat anyone could hope for.	Snowie Snowie is brand new to us. So far, he has captured our hearts. He is a big character, and he loves affection. He has a very funny personality and loves to play!
	Spunky I am a DSH orange tabby male about 4yr old. I am a talkative guy who loves to eat. I tell my roommate, Sabrine, all the time to open up more but she is still a bit shy. Come say hello and I will do my best to talk you in to taking "US" home.	Danielle Danielle came to us with a litter of adorable kittens. She was a great mother, all her babies are adopted and now it is her time to find a forever home. She is a gorgeous, lithe little gal, who loves to rub and love on you. Danielle looks like she is part Maine Coon and all charmer.
	Pauline Pauline is about 2 years old and full of bright eyed wonder and spirit. She is talkative and affectionate-did I mention talkative? She loves to chase toys and play with catnip mice. Pauline is great little gal who would love to have a home and people to call her own.	Kitty Kitty was abandoned on our doorstep with a note asking for someone to save him. And now it might be your turn? He is a big beautiful cat with a gorgeous face and an impish personality. He is very affectionate cat who is happy to plop down on a lap and wait for lots of petting! For now, he is looking for a big hearted adopter.
	Velvet Well hello, I am Velvet. And I am pleeeeased to meet you. Really, I am. I just don't like to show my emotions. Unless of course you are going to pet me...Wheeeeeeee. I love to be scratched around the ears, on the chin, the back...you name it, I will purr for it. I am sure, I would like a lap to sit on too, if you got one. Come by, ask for me..Velvet.	Pooh Oh the indignity...They named me Pooh. I assume they mean Winnie the Pooh. Or maybe these silly two leggers are just goofy. I don't know. But let me assure you, I am so much more than a Pooh. I am a gorgeous all black gal, with big green eyes. I am in a room with a couple jokers, but I am doing ok. I like other cats, even if I keep to myself a bit. I do make a special point to come and talk to the humans, when they come here. So, please don't let my silly name stop you from coming to see me!
	Viola Viola is a big fluffy ball of love. She is a young girl, who loves to be held and loves to play and is strikingly gorgeous. She is a fantastic cat.	Amy Amy might actually be our largest Tortie. And we have a few big torties! She is a total gentle giant only about 6 years old. She can wind her large body right around your lap and stay there forever! She is really one of a kind.
	Covasi We, at the Lange Foundation are torn...Some of us love all Torties and some are not so sure...But Covasi is loved by all of us. She is about 3 yrs old, and by far the sweetest, gentlest tortie in the whole place. She gives head butts, kisses, lap sitting, and all sorts of affection. Her temperament makes her perfect for any family.	Missy I am a DSH tabby/white female/spayed 10weeks. I am such a lover. You can throw me over your shoulder, kiss my belly while I fall asleep in your arms upside down.
	Princess I am a DSH tabby/white female 1 1/2yrs. Like most moms with babies. I am working hard taking care of my babies. Although I love them, I would love to find my own home as quickly as they do and finally get all the attention to myself.	Teagen I am a DSH blk/white female 2 1/2yrs. I am a very outgoing girl (I have to be since I am a black and white cat). I am taking great care of my babies and can't wait to have my own home where I can get more of the attention.
	Onion Onion is an adorable lilac point Siamese, complete with cross eyes! She just had a litter of 4 kittens and was a great mom. She is affectionate, loving, purring, funny, lithe gal. All she wants is a lap to cuddle on and a loving home of her own.	Kally Kally is a quirky, funny loving little long haired calico gal-about 4 yrs old. She loves to roll over for belly rubbing and she loves to play. If you have toys, energy and lots of love, Kally is the perfect girl for you.
	Brandon Brandon is a big squishy love bug. He is about 3 years old. He loves loves loves attention from all people and purrs as soon as anyone touches him. Brandon has quickly become a favorite around here. He would like nothing more than a comfy sunny spot or a warm lap to curl up on.	Maxine Maxine is pretty hard to describe, she is a gorgeous black cat with a grey undercoat. She is truly stunning. She was at the shelter for a very long time and for some reason, she was the perfect cat to test the dogs with. She gets along really well with dogs and was quick to determine whether the dogs were friendly to cats or not. An odd skill, to say the least but one that has served her well. She is really affectionate with people and loves to hang out in the sun. Come by and meet Maxine, she is a fantastic cat
	Sheeba Sheeba is a gorgeous tuxedo gal. She is a bundle of furry goodness. She loves to cuddle up on a lap more than just about anything. However, she is also an expert catnip mouse chaser. She doesn't show that skill to just anyone...just those who have catnip mice to play with! Sheeba is about three years old, gets along great with her enclosure mates and would love to show you how fabulous she really is!	Bandit This little gal is nursing her babies right now but she is a fantastic young cat. She loves attention, purrs like a motor and wants nothing more than a comfortable lap to curl up on. We think she is a Russian Blue mix, about a year or so old.
	Ellie Ellie is brand new to us and has made quite an impression. She is a lithe beauty, most likely a maine coon mix. She is sweet and demur, loves to cuddle and has the cutest mannerisms. She is the first one to greet people and loves attention. We believe she about 2 years old.	Lida Lida is about 4 years old and full of mirth. She loves to come right up to you and talk you into to following her to her favorite spot. The she rolls around and convinces you to spend hours rubbing her belly! Yup, Lida is a doll!
	Moe Moe is a fantastic big calico. Look at this girl, she is a big calico with all the qualities of a tri-color cat! She loves to talk, and to play and roll around. Her goals in life are to find a nice sunny window to lie in and a nice happy person to spend her days talking to! She is easy going, loves attention and is learning that playing with a feather toy might be the best thing ever. We think Moe is about 2 years old and has all the energy and spunk of a kitten.	Oakland Oakland is very new to us and has come out of his shell in a big fantastic way. He is a beautiful tabby about 2 year old. He had no idea why his owners felt the need to dump at the kennel, and neither do we. But that rough start hasn't stopped him from getting all the attention in the enclosure. He has quickly become a big big charmer. Everyone who comes by, Oakland is sure to greet.
